OPENING:           Who was/is your best boss? Why?

 

What are the qualities that make someone a good boss?

 

What is “in charge” of your life?

 

What would it mean for Jesus to be the boss of your life?

 

What is the difference between Jesus being your savior and Him being your Lord??

 

That’s  what HE Said:      Read: Matthew 7:21-23

 What is the context in which Jesus shares this teaching?

Why does Jesus stress the importance of doing God’s will?

Why is just calling Him Lord, not enough?

What is the difference between doing good things and doing God’s will?

Read: Matthew 6:19-34

 

How can materialism become the boss of your life ?

 

Why does Jesus say you can only have one boss (master)(vs. 24)?

 

Verses 25-31 Why do we worry about these things Jesus told us not to worry about?  Vs. 32 Why does belief prevent worry?  Vs. 33  What are you seeking first in your life?

What would it take to move from Jesus just being Savior, to him being Lord (boss) of your life?

Have each person offer a one sentence, “Jesus, help me see you. . .”

Close with the Lord’s Prayer.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.  Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us.  And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.  For Thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory forever.  Amen.
